Ongoing, updated Summer 2024
Vaccination Status
Children and adult caregivers are encouraged to be vaccinated as soon as possible for COVID-19 and flu, but this is not required.
Masks:
Masks are optional in all classes. Teachers may request students/caregivers who appear sick to wear a mask. This policy may change as needed by the board and teachers as we monitor illness levels in our community, doing our best to keep our school family healthy.
Classroom guests are encouraged to wear a mask.
If You are Sick
If you have respiratory virus symptoms (fever, chills, fatigue, cough, runny nose, headache, among others) or test positive for COVID-19, follow CDC guidance for staying home:
You can go back to your normal activities (including school) when, for at least 24 hours, BOTH are true:
- Your symptoms are getting better overall, and
- You have not had a fever (and are not using fever-reducing medication)
When you go back to your normal activities, we encourage you to take added precautions for the next 5 days:
- Wear a mask
- take steps to improve air flow and filtration – bring as much fresh air into your home as possible, use a portable HEPA cleaner, move activities outdoors where airflow is best
- practice good hygiene – coverhand wash, clean frequently touched surfaces,
- put physical distance between yourself and others – avoid crowded areas where you may be unable to maintain physical distance
Exposure/Close Contact
- Follow the WA DOH “What Should You Do After Being Exposed to COVID-19 or Another Respiratory Virus” guidelines by using respiratory virus prevention strategies such as:
- wearing masks
- taking steps to improve air flow and filtration
- practicing good hand hygiene
- cleaning regularly
- physical distancing
- and testing.
- If symptomatic, get tested, and get treatment if eligible.
